I have been watching the new series of the UK Big Brother since it started and dare I say, I am glad it is the last one. It has got very boring and there was me thinking that it would be spiced up a little, what with it being the last series ever for the UK.
But no, the tasks have been whimsical and the punishments have been laughable. So much for BB pulling out all the stops this year to ensure the series go out with a bang. We still have the same show as last year. There are the bitchy girls, there are the argumentative people. There is one disabled guy and an Australian David-Beckham lookalike. All these people just help to make a silly excuse for entertainment. The show which was originally top of the ratings has now slumped down the scale and has raked in fewer viewers than any series it has ever done.
Saying all this...I still cant stop myself from watching it. It is boring, yes. It is predictable, yes. And its very very repertive and has a load of irritating, boring housemates, but....I have to watch.
Now does that make me mad?
For me, the show has no obvious winners, other than ex army guy, Steve who has appeared to have been himself from the start. Ben is a prime example of someone who has been himself, but he has no clue when it comes to the society and socialising with people. He trips up over his words and he has put his foot in his mouth more often than not, but I kind of like him.
He is completely misunderstood and at times, completely annoying, but he appears to be himself and doesnt seem to be playing a game. At least he doesnt seem like he is, for all we know, he could be a very good actor.
But surely....not?
I just dont think he will win, not because i dont favour him, but because I dont think everyone else shares my views.
One things for sure; I may be addicted as any year to watching the show unravell, but I am sure as hell not going to miss it when it has finally gone. BB has finally lost its shine and will finally be off our screens for good....
Leaving time to watch all of the other reality television shows, like X Factor and Im a Celebrity.....
